Privacy Policy
Effective 22 July 2026 · Last updated 8 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how aeons (“aeons,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with the website at aeonslab.xyz and the subscription newsletter known as The Transmission. We are committed to protecting your privacy and to handling any personal data we hold responsibly and transparently. By subscribing to The Transmission, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1.Who we are
aeons is an independent publication operating under the name aeons labs. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), aeons is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or about how your information is handled, you can contact us at hello@aeonslab.xyz.
2.Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate The Transmission and to understand, in aggregate, how the website is used.
Information you provide
When you subscribe to The Transmission, we collect the email address you submit. We do not require your name or any other personal detail, and we do not ask you to create an account.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, limited, non-identifying usage information is collected through privacy-focused analytics, as described in Section 5. This information cannot be used to identify you personally.
3.How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes only:
- To send you The Transmission and occasional messages directly related to the newsletter.
- To manage your subscription, including honoring unsubscribe requests.
- To understand, in aggregate and without identifying individuals, how the website is used, so that we can improve it.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4.Legal basis for processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your email address is your consent, which you provide when you subscribe. You may withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing, without affecting the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal. Our legal basis for collecting aggregate, non-identifying website analytics is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the website.
5.Service providers
We do not operate our own email or analytics infrastructure. We rely on the following trusted service providers, each of which processes data only on our behalf and only to the extent necessary to provide its service.
Email delivery
Subscription requests are collected through Google Forms, and subscriber email addresses are stored in Google Sheets. Google processes this data on our behalf in accordance with its own privacy commitments and applicable data protection law. We do not yet use a dedicated newsletter delivery service; if that changes, this policy will be updated to name the provider before any address is transferred to it.
Website analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to measure website traffic. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across websites or over time. Because no personal data is collected for analytics purposes, the website does not require a cookie consent banner.
6.Cookies and tracking
The website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising, and it contains no third-party advertising or tracking technologies. The Transmission does not contain tracking pixels.
7.How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your email address with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes. Your information is disclosed only to the service providers described in Section 5, and only as necessary to operate the newsletter and website. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.
8.International transfers
Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on our service providers’ safeguards and contractual commitments intended to ensure an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable data protection law.
9.Data retention
We retain your email address only for as long as you remain subscribed to The Transmission. When you unsubscribe, your address is removed from our active mailing list. Every issue of The Transmission includes an unsubscribe link, which takes effect promptly.
